JOB DESCRIPTION:
Seeking an experienced project manager to grow the technology requirements for firm-wide risk management group. The candidate must possess a strong background in credit risk management systems and risk management concepts. Experience building, integrating and deploying a firm-wide system is an absolute requirement.

This is a high profile role, with frequent intra-day contact with senior risk managers including the chief risk officer and senior technology managers. The candidate will be fluent in the business of risk management and technology management.

As the firm is embarking on a complete overhaul of the enterprise risk management system, this is the perfect opportunity at the ground level to bring in best in class practices and ideas, from customer master, trade master all the way to firm-wide risk management and reporting.

Responsibilities:
-Implement and deploy the firm’s new enterprise-wide risk management system.
-Lead a small group of dedicated risk technologists.
-Bridge the technology/business gap between risk and technology management.
-Lead, mentor, develop a small group of dedicated risk technologists while fostering a team environment
-Ensure collaboration efforts with remote IT teams are successful
-Participate in staff hiring, development, and management.
-Focus on continuous process and quality improvement, along with supporting high levels of customer satisfaction
-Maintenance and monitoring of established measurement metrics
-Manage team of 5-8 developers in different regions in a 24x5 onsite coverage, 24x7 on call coverage
-Hands on support role as 24x7 coverage demands that all team members have support/development knowledge
-Work with Business and IT teams to identify functional and technical solutions to meet business process requirements, this includes documenting technical requirements, as well as designing solutions.

Required Skills:
-General product knowledge, e.g. bonds, equities, futures, fx, swaps, etc.
-Specific knowledge of bonds and futures
-Full understanding the following concepts: VaR, CVaR, exposure, PFE, Monte Carlo
-5+ years working experience with j2ee
-5+ years working experience with Sybase
-3+ years working experience with Microsoft C#
-3+ years working experience with IBM MQ and JMS Technologies
-3+ years experience in the development of relational data models.
-Working experience with Solaris Unix and Windows Platforms
-Experience or working knowledge in the development tool platforms: HTML, XML, Perl.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose/resolve complex issues
-Ability to multi-task and switch gears to meet changing priorities and tasks to accomplish goals/objectives of the firm, not just individual tasks
-Able to proactively identify potential issues and propose resolutions
-Experience with managing development resources located in a different region of the world.
-Experience, commensurate with team requirements to support applications including issues, tools upgrade, version upgrades, etc.
-Must be independent and creative in approach to problems and issues.
-Ability to work independently.
-Excellent oral and written communications skills, particularly in documenting requirements and specifications, and communicating to end users.
-Ability to build, maintain, and follow project plans
-Ability to proactively manage up well, including owning issues/support, and escalating appropriately to management
-Must have the ability to appropriately set priorities for self and team when necessary
-Ability to own communication stream to users, infrastructure groups, and follow up/through
-"Can do attitude" relating to accomplishing projects/tasks/workload for team
-Ability to work directly with users in the business to understand issues, drive solutions, and prioritize requests
